| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 9, 2009 A litle over aged bottle but still marvelous. Nice sweet chrystal malt aroma that is also present in the taste with a lively fizz. Wery nice color and a fine but short foam. soapbox (17), Alabama, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 8, 2009 Pours a nice brown color with a huge foam head. After the foam subsides the beer presents itself as a nice brown ale. Has a nice feel/body to it and a malty and nutty flavor. It just isn’t worth the price though. caresville (106), Vernon, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 5, 2009 pours a deep brown with an off white head, smells terribly like stale bread to me every time i drink this but its what it tastes like that really matters. this stuff is up there with the best of the best in taste in belgium. a wonderful mixture of plums and pears that hit you at the same time as chocolate and belgian baked bread, while you get a strong malty presence. ends dry but full of flavor, leaves you always wanting more. kappldav123 (1869), Markkleeberg, Germany
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 28, 2009 The bottle looks very simple, a bit too simple, I think. The beer in the glass very dark, almost black, nice head. Starts malty and strong, quite fruity with notes of plum and raisins. Very soft finish, well balanced, warming aftertaste. Not bad! keepersj12 (810), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is wonderful full of fruit bread and malt. Flavor has a touch of root beer. Finish is exceptionally smooth. Very easy to put a few of these away. Pipper (251), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 18, 2009 Bomber into pint. Dark brown with some clear brown around the edges, medium carbonation and huge dark tan head. Taste is a bit like beef stew in a delicious way, nice body. Plus at $9 a bomber pretty happy with it. 502Flavors (622), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 18, 2009 750ml shared with Pipper. Clear brown body with nice lacing light khaki brown head. Aroma is wheaty, yeasty, and fruity with cereal notes. Flavor is the same pretty much with a nice hop profile... nice fall beer. Medium body with fine light carbonation. Overall: good, but not supremely unique.
