| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 8, 2009 Updated: Sep 9, 2009750 ml. bottle. pours a thick rapidly deflating beige head, over a clear, dark reddish brown (SRM 33) body.....nose is sweet malts, bit of coffee, cocoa, barnyard.....taste early is sweet malts, balanced by dried fruits (raisin, cherry) followed by roasted malt and hop bitterness....mouth feel is rather light, carbonation medium. This is a pleasant Dubbel, but does not have the layers of nose and taste that the best have. viet959 (75), , Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Aroma: Malty, fruit presence (aroma was overall too light). Appearance: Dark brown with big head that has medium retention. Flavor: Malts, caramel, some dried fruit presence, and a bit of bitterness. Palate: medium body, lively, finish was faded faster than i would have liked. Overall: good beer but not quite enough flavor or special characteristics that make it stand out to me. patrickfannon (367), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA
