Commercial Description:
Has a very distinctive bouquet: yeasty, fruity and slightly smoky. In palate, it has notes of port, raisins and black chocolate. Editor's note: Apparently production has moved from Van Steenberge to du Bocq as of Sept 2007.

Bottle at KØ07. Very nice appearance, very dark brown, mahogany colour. Very small light brown head. Weak, roasted aroma. The flavour has an estery fruitiness, moderate but noticable. OK malt flavour, but quite common. Weak, thin finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with ruby highlights and a large light tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of fresh malt, caramel, dark fruit, and a hint of dark chocolate. Taste is the same as aroma with a well balanced bitterness. Medium mouthfeel that finishes dry. A well balanced and easy drinking Dubbel.

Malty, fruity and flavorful. Very nice dubbel. Appealing cloudy dark brown pour with big off-white head. Lots of malts in the aroma — caramel, raisin and plum. Notes of dark chocolate and a little licorice. Flavor is mostly sweet and lightly acidic. Very slight bitterness. Medium body, watery texture followed by some stickiness. Lively carbonation. Alcohol shows up at the end.

Bomber: A medium body moderatetly spicy critter with a large head. Deeper brown in color with sparse lacing. Cardomom in the nose with a watery finish. Mild bite at finish. A decent magnum for the aches and pains of life.

Bottle. High fluffy but lasting white head. Hazy yellow body. Dry and dusty barley malt aroma. Sweet smooth well rounded fruity, apple pear, with a touch of coriander and maybe something else, I cannot quite figure this spice out. Low carbonation, long and plaansant aftertaste although it is pretty sweet. Alcohol percentage seems just right.

Bottled 33cl. It pours a brown beer with a rather big beige head. Spicy aromas of oranges, cloves, caramel and pineapple. Very pleasantly fruity, spicy and yeasty. Some caramel in the taste, lots of spices, some pineapple. Madeira-like elements detectable, hints of dark chocolate. Excellent notes of pine needles. A well balanced dubbel with a very pleasant mouthfeel. Quite high carbonation. The finish is buttery and rather bitter. A very tasty dubbel - I liked the design of the label too. Rerate: Not as good as I remembered. But I’m still sticking to the initial rating allthough bogus ;-) Very nice for style thogh. Far from being excellent.
