ChristianScheffel (2059), Odense, Denmark Jun 6, 2008 Brown with a lasting off-white head leaving lace. Bready malt and caramel in the initial aroma. Background notes of licorice, roast malt and dates. Rich malt flavour, but dry as it should be. The licorice and other notes are lingering in the aftertaste.
Dr_Funk (77), Sorumsand, Norway Aug 19, 2008 Bottle from monopoly outlet, CC Vest. pours Dark brown with nice offwhite head. Fantastic fruity aroma of canned pears and some yeast spicyness. Well balanced fruity taste with semi dry finish with some rhubarb. Fantastic daknole (644), Plantation, Florida, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottle, great beer. malt and fruit on the nose. some tart fruit and malt on the nose. Certainly a really good damn beer. NomDeBeer (129), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 14, 2008 Tastes of sweet, dry malt and a touch of sourness as others have pointed out. Good beer, very drinkable, but there’s nothing remarkable about it; a typical dubble. mybestfriend (250), Gothenburg, Sweden Aug 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a reddish brown colour with an off-white head. The aroma is malty with some notes of berries. The flavour is also malty with some malty notes and has a tartness to it. Thought that I would be more impressed by this beer... BillKismet (1388), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 11, 2008 Poured a completely full glass of brown foam, which slowly condenses into a syrupy brown color. Aroma of light yeastiness and some sour wood notes, but hard to coax out. Flavor is slightly sour brown malts with hints of oak. Uncomplex and lacks the depth one would desire of a Belgian brew. Lackluster for a dubbel.
