| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 11, 2009 Pours very dark amber with a thick, foamy, off-white head. Aroma is a bit earthy and with nuts and dark malts. Quite intense flavor that is mildly sweet, bitter and dry. Well balanced. Creamy texture and good carbonation. Quite short dry finish. tpd975 (243), Riverview, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 10, 2009 A: Wonderful dark brown almost black color. Pours with a nice thick head that recedes to a rim around the glass.
S: Dark fruits, chocolate, molasses and spicy brown sugar.
T: Tastes just like it smells. raisins, brown sugar, and hints of chocolate, and a slight underlying sourness. Not much just enough to raise the complexity.
M: Medium bodied and bubbly.
D: Nice and smooth drinking beer.

And the flavour doesn’t disappoint either, though perhaps there is a little bit of harshness on the palate. italianjohn (388), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Pours a dark amber color with a medium head that goes away fairly fast. Aroma and taste is fruity with some malts. The taste is not very complex but it does have a nice body with a mild bitter aftertaste. I think this is a solid ale... for me it is not one of the great beers but have always enjoyed the ones I’ve had.
