Bottled 1/3 liter. Beautiful opaque thick brown color with a creamy tan head. Nose aged, yeasty, caramelly, bittersweet. Flavor malty but not really distinctive; doesn’t have enough guts I guess. Rather highly carbonated for a dubbel, I think; nicely warming and smooth as it goes down.

Sep 1, 2008 Very nice look to it. Normal brown ale aroma with a hint of chocolate. Taste is very comparable to New Castle with a little bit more body.

Sep 1, 2008 Murky brown. Dry smell with an earthy quality to it. The flavor has some of the earthy/smoky quality to it I associate with a farmhouse saison. A little hint of chocolate or toffee in the finish. Very dry, but still a nice body.

Aug 22, 2008 35,5cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. It poured a red-brown colour with a big beige head that settled down fast in the glass. It has a fruity flavour that smells of raisins and yeast. The flavour is slightly bitter and tastes of raisins, malts and a hint of coffee. It has a short aftertaste.
