alaskanwarren (269), Edgewater, Colorado, USA Feb 28, 2008 Pours a marvelous light copper w/ a white htead. Aroma is crisp, spicy. Flavor is a spicy flavor with an excellent malt backbone. Very crisp and clean, with a mineral, salty taste. I love the finish - very clean and leaves a metallic dry mouthfeel. Overall it’s an excellent example of a really interesting, delicious lager. Can’t thank Doppelganger enough for sending this one my way. SilkTork (3793), Rochester, Kent, England Feb 10, 2008 Keg at The Jam Factory, Oxford. A decent standard lager. Clean, crisp with good citric notes. Nothing outstanding, but well made and quite tasty. Max1972 (10), England Dec 8, 2006 Not only is this the best British lager I have tasted, but it’s one of the best lagers I’ve ever tasted. Glad to see that someone is trying to set new much higher standards in this country. Well done. Doppelganger (1080), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Oct 2, 2006 Tap at the Cheese Festival in Cheltenham. Nice cap of white on a light gold pour. Very delicate aroma, light herbal hops. Earthy, toasty quality with a mineral hop finish. A clean, pleasant, easy drinking lager with lots of flavor. Served a little too cold (in my opinion) even for a lager, but quite good. I’m actually really happy to see Richard doing what he is doing with Cotswold: experimenting with traditionally German styles using British ingredients. I’m excited to see what he tries next. Fin (2005), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Oct 1, 2006 Had this at the National Cheese Festival, Montpellier, Cheltenham, 30-09-06. A light golden appearance, very crisp and refreshing with hoppy notes and some citrus tangs to it, quite dry and all in all not bad at all.
