| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 12, 2006 Cask (handpump), at the Edgar Wallace, Strand. Bright, deep copper colour. Scant white head. Mainly malty aroma. Sort of damp, clammy character with a smoky edge. The palate is all soft malt and berry fruit. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. Notice how often the word "smooth" is coming up? Perhaps a bit too often. A pleasant enough mellow and malty bitter but rather lacking in bite and, er, bitterness.
