Oct 9, 2007 Cask @ The Edgar Wallace, Temple, London. Pours a clear copper color with a small off-white head. Fruity malty caramel aroma. Sweet malty fruity caramel flavor. Long malty finish with hints of caramel in the aftertaste.

Dec 12, 2006 Cask (handpump), at the Edgar Wallace, Strand. Bright, deep copper colour. Scant white head. Mainly malty aroma. Sort of damp, clammy character with a smoky edge. The palate is all soft malt and berry fruit. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. Notice how often the word "smooth" is coming up? Perhaps a bit too often. A pleasant enough mellow and malty bitter but rather lacking in bite and, er, bitterness.

Jun 25, 2004 Cask condtioned @ JDW, Soton. Rich dark fruits, toasted malts and earthy hop aroma. Quite sweet, but well balanced by faint roastiness and full hop bitterness.

Deep clear amber colour, beige head. Strong hop aroma that is generous and forward. Hoppy flavour with vanilla cream and toffee. Good bitter structure and highly quaffable.
