Copper with a small white head. Aroma of toffee and roasted malt. Dry and malty flavour with a roasted finish. I like a little more fruit and hops.

Cask handpump at The Royal Oak, Meavy, Devon (guest). Cloudy copper with a thin foam head. Scent of malts, especially cooked biscuits. Thin and a bit flat. Slightly more malt then hop, leading to a slight sweetness but not much. A hint of nuts which doesn’t last then nothing except a dry, but not particularly bitter, end.

Cask, Kings Arms, Salford. Dark brown colour, thin off white head. Not much in the aroma. Gently fruity flavour with balanced maltiness and dark chocolate/nutty notes. Drying finish. Not bad.
