Nose is malty, a bit fruity with dried fruit, caramel and a nutty hint. Taste starts malty and nutty then turns fruity with hints of dark cherry and a balanced dusty hoppiness in the finish. Balanced but a bit understated. Nice though. chriso (4796), London, Greater London, England

Mid copper colour. Whilst the name might suggest something rather aromatic, this is a fairly dry, earthy bitter with the emphasis on malt. Hoppy bitterness comes through late. Surprised I’d never rated it before. Perfectly proficient, but unspectacular.

Slightly meaty aroma. Good agressive hops in mouth and drying hop finish. Quite nice. As you would expect from Cottage, rich flavours. But this is better than the average bitter.
