Aug 16, 2008 Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury, courtesy of Rick who wouldn’t let me leave without trying the Cottage beer, cheers Rick. Brown with white head. Fruity malty beer, I got a perfumed strawberry note, so I agree with the fruit jelly comment below. Boiled malts, a touch sweet with hints of caramel. Lacks hops.

Jul 13, 2008 Erm, opposite the Hippodrome in Brum. Woodsy malt aroma with a squeeze of old sock. Fruit jelly with too much water. Mealy malt, caramel and mushy biscuit. Had high hopes having tried the DB5. A watery anticlimax.
