Aroma is citrusy & florally hoppy. Taste was much the same, with some piney hints and a little malt. Somewhat thin, a little watery, but not bad. Medium mouthfeel and slightly bitter on the finish. walleye (882), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA

I was the flavor matched the aroma but it fell a little short. had a nice dryness to it bubbleflubber (898), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2006 A deep caramel walnut pour with a nice head and initial lace that dwindles to nothing as the beer warms. The nose contains just a hint of grapefruit, Cascade hops, and light pine. The flavor is dry-hopped well, and slight citrus and malt notes are backed by large amounts of Cascades. The finish is relatively dry, and the mouthfeel falls between crisp and oily. I really miss the grapefruit flavors and definitive pine notes of a great IPA, but this falls into its own category, not trying to replicate those tendencies. It’s good for what it tries to accomplish. MacDaddyOJake (274), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 29, 2006 Great IPA and rather unique. Darker than most with an amber color. Taste was fairly hoppy as a good IPA should be and the finish was that of a brown ale, but it fit wonderfully!! Great beer, brewed with attitude, and a wonderful accessory to a hot and humid day at the Outer Banks. droopy49 (97), Lancaster, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2006 Thanks to Suttree (aka Secret Santa) for sending this 12oz bottle my way. This poured a deep amber with a small, quickly receeding head. Aroma was mildy hoppy with some sweet malt notes. Flavor was initially bitter with a good malt presence. It’s always nice to try different IPA’s, thanks again Phil! shrubber85 (2995), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 15, 2006 Bottle. Sour berry and hops aroma - a bit like mashed strawberries. Dark amber color with small head. Light berry flavor initially followed by a moderate hops flavor - got a strong metallic taste with my first sip but that seems to fade with more tasting. I would really love this beer if it didn’t have the metallic taste to it. crzybob77 (528), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 3, 2006 First impression is i don’t like the smell... kinda funky. Getting a wierd metallic taste in the flavor and smell. Has a light hop flavor with not a whole lot to go with it. More malt to hops ratio than most IPAs. Anyway, nothing i would seek out again. sloth (1681), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 21, 2006 Large, light tan head with good retention and plenty of sticky lace thats coating and lasting. Hazy amber glow in appearence. Fruity, grainy nose. Body is medium, a touch oily. Fruity hops, an abundance of caramel malt make for a maltier english style IPA. Decent balance. Finish is almost dry, fruity. Props to SpringsLicker for this one, thanks Jay!
