Off-white head fades slowly and leaves good lacing. Cascade hops on the nose to be sure. Not overwhelming but very noticable. Medium bodied. A little thin in malt flavor. Decent hop bitterness that lingers. A fair IPA Foxbush (462), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 15, 2005 Updated: Mar 19, 2007The ale poured with a frothy head that was inviting from the beginning. The color was a deep amber and there was plenty of lacing. The nose was of hops. The flavor was of hops but not as strong as many IPAs with a slight bitter aftertaste. Over all a very pleasant experience. This bottle was purchased at a World Market. The second bottle in June 2005 was just as good or better. A very balanced IPA. Not overpowering. I enjoyed another at the Charlotte airport. maupie (623), Roosendaal, Netherlands
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 14, 2005 This beer has a brown body - hue apperance and a coarse white scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had no carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is little acid. SledgeJr (2972), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 3, 2005 In the bottle from Green Life Grocery in Asheville, NC. Orangy-reddish amber in color. Solid head and lacing. Caramel malty aroma surprisingly deficient in hops. Flavor of tangy citrus and hop bitterness, but still can muster up a little sweet malt balance. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2004 Ruby color misty, decent head & sticky lacing. Nose of rich caramel malts & molasses. Not very hoppy, more sweet & malty. Taste has some balance and more malty body. A sweet finish. More like an amber ale. Not too bad though. Boutip (2390), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2004 Bottle: Poured a brown ale with a medium head with average retention. Aroma is comprised exclusively of some bitterness. Taste is also quite bitter with a medium body. Overall, I would say that this taste like 90% of IPA’s I tasted to date – I’m getting a bit tired of this one-sided style and looking forward to try another IPA with more subtlety. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2004 Hazy dark copper, with a creamy head and stringy lacing. Nice dose of cascade hops hit you up front and the underlying malts back that up rather well. Bitterness comes out at first but slowly rolls into floral hops. Caramel is there with some crystal malts. Medium bodied with a bitter, citrusy finish. Nice beer. Thanks Jay! JohnC (2286), Mission Viejo, California, USA

It pours a cloudy red/brown w/ a hoppy nose. Dry on the palate, w/ a citric finish, this IPA is pretty tasty.
