Commercial Description:
From the breweries of Colorado and the Pacific Northwest comes the winter tradition of a hearty brown ale that finishes with a strong hoppy taste. Made with a blend of Crystal Malts, and balanced with Centennial and Columbus hops, the frostbite was aggressively brewed to warm the beer drinkers in the southern Appalachian Mountains. Even if it’s not cold where you are, you will certainly enjoy this distinctively bold ale. After the change in NC ABV laws, this beer was reformulated as High Gravity Frostbite.

A red beerl Light sugar and malt. Some hops in the finish, which gives it s crisp end. Better than average for the style.

Thanks to JK for this one. Decent hops in the aroma. Brown color with a light tan head. Citrus and hops dominate the flavor with a dry and slightly bitter aftertaste.

Ooh, ooh, a retired brew shared by JK. Cool! From a 12-oz bottle this brew pours a dark coppery amber with a thin light tan head with good lacing. Aroma of piney hops, carameled corn, some citrus with cinnamon. Taste has a nice sweet and hoppy beginning and then thin out in the finish with a slight dry citrus aftertaste.

Thank ya kindly JK! Dark copper color with no head. Aroma strikes me as big, English hops. Dry hop taste with a little orange. A bit of maple as well.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God (thanks!). Poured a medium brown color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of toasted nuts, citrus, and had a light evergreen aroma to it. Tastes of citrus, pine, and toasted malts. Not sure how old this is, but there was still a definite hoppy presence to the aromas and tastes. After the Brown Ales I’ve been going through lately, this one was a nice change up.
