Aroma is spicy grass and slight citrus. Flavor is well balanced between malt and hops; grainy honeyish malt on front slowly turns to spicy hops, slight pine. Palate is smooth and light-medium. tronraner (1938), Seymour, Tennessee, USA

The aroma is very piney with some hints of grain and oranges. The flavor is piney and citrus hops at first, but grassy toward finish. The malt profile is sugary. dcattorney (13), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 19, 2006 I enjoyed this beer poured into a glass from a bottle purchased in Hilton Head, SC. Recommended by the sales clerk, this beer has a pleasant malty aroma. The taste is malty and tinged with a citrus taste, with a strong finish. Agree that flavor is a bit more prominent than most pale ales. mcnally (114), Burbank, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 14, 2006 Drank straight from the bottle at my friend’s wedding in Charlotte. I’m glad I tried this tasty brew. Can’t comment on the appearance, but flavor is nicely hopped while not being too much in your face. I will agree with some of the others that it seems closer to an amber than an american pale ale. AlchemistZ (493), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Nov 5, 2006 A rather cloudy, golden amber color with an off-white, lacing head. A fat, caramelized malt aroma often indicative of a stale, old beer then a touch of grainy malt. Rather malty on the palate, very little hop flavor until the finish, bitterness the creates balance at the start and the middle of the palate only, a winey character not unlike a Kolsch beer, and lots of caramel malt flavor. No trace of any kind of American hop and the palate is one of the worst balanced for style I have tasted in a long time. hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 26, 2006 Amberish/gold colour, mid sized white head. Fruity hop in the aroma with more in the flavour, but not too much for a standard pale ale. The flavour was a bit light on everything else. hopscotch (5537), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 4, 2006 Bottle... NTB Ernesto Festo ’06... Hazy amber ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Fruity, beefy nose extends notes of apricot, broth and perspiration. The flavor offers toffee and fruity sweetness evened-out by grapefruit bitterness. Medium-bodied with modest carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. Refreshing, but fairly bland. jcwattsrugger (5578), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
