Ah..the bartender moves across the room with a beatiful mug of deeply caramel brew. An odor of roasted nuts that hints of sweetness trails in his wake. I pick up the brew, caressing it in my hands as I gaze longingly into its depths. I lean forward and it lightly brushes my lips. Roasted barley. Caramel. Vanilla. Ah, smooth refreshment and no guilt afterwards. What more could a man want?

Really loved this one, great noot brown. Nice nutty, malty, flavor. Very flavorful indeed. Brewed in Mooresville, NC, a nice little town. Indeed.

From the bottle, pours a very dark brown with a foamy off-white head. Nice lacing down the side, and aroma is mostly of sweet malts. Taste is of brown sugar and molasses, with some malty flavors as well. I’m sure this is good for the style, but I really just don’t like brown ales.

12 oz. bottle: Poured dark brown (surprise). Had a light tan head that disappeared very quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was very sharp and a little hoppier than expected. The taste was very sharp and hoppy as well with a nutty flavor. The palate was a little thick, but not syrupy. Did not finish very special. Overall a good beer, especially for 6.99.

Nice brown colour with white head. Thanks crwills. Mollasses and licorice in scent and in taste.Malty, but not well malted, more sugary with fizzy carbonation. Got sick of it after first swallow. Another brown and not all that satisfying at that, more body needed.

Bottle... NTB Ernesto Festo ’06... Clear, dark ruby ale with a small, fizzy, khaki head. Chocolate, vanilla and caramel aroma. The flavor is medium sweet, mildly chocolatey and nutty. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with gentle carbonation. Finishes sweet and chocolatey with a hint of smoke.

From notes 4/21/03: Hazy amber brown color, with a fluffy beige head that decided to skip town once it laid eyes on me. No lace left behind. Boring. Aromas are faint at best. What little could be detected were malty, nutty, and a slight sweet sugary scent. The taste though was more pronounced, with a slick malty feel, a hint of nut, and some metallic feel at the end after the swallow. Thin mouthfeel. This being said, you could drink these one after another and not be offended, or offensive. If I had my druthers, I would select the Endo IPA from these folks first, but wouldn’t be extremely sad if Low Down Brown was all that was available.

Very dark brown pour. Very malty aroma, with some noticeable roastiness. Flavor was also quite malty for a brown. Not big enough to be a stout, but not too far removed.
