Medium light bodied, mineral feel, touch of malts. Drinkable brown that gets a bit to thin at the finish. Vac (2394), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 8, 2004 This brown ale pours with a deep brown body topped by a medium thick, off-white head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma and flavor are slightly sweet and malty yet bitter and hoppy with a very slight roasty note, a fine touch of licorice and a little caramel. meidum bodied and smooth. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 25, 2004 Nice malty, slightly sour aroma. Big head, nice. Taste is a little thin and has a funny sourness to it that is a little repulsive yet strangely attractive. Leaves a nice roasty aftertaste. Strange beer. Falconseye8 (525), Cartersville, Georgia, USA

Smells chocolately and coffee flavors. This is a solid Brown Ale. Tastes as it smells, not as hoppy as I expected bur a very nice beer. 5000 (2540), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 12, 2004 Bottle pours ruby brown, small off-white head that quickly dissipates, spotty lacing, with minor carbonation.   Malts and nuts on the nose.   Slightly grainy as well.   Up front I get a nice nutty flavor, soon thereafter I get a slight chocolately flavor.   Bitter sweetness from beginning to the end.   Slight metallic aftertaste.   Decent, but the finish was a little muttled.   Thanks goes out to ross8425 for the trade!

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 24, 2004 Pours a reddish tinged brown. Medium tan head. Aroma is malty and nutty. The taste was essentially more of the aroma but with a hint of cocoa and very light hint of bittering hops. Finish was sort of vegetal and bitter with only small amounts of sweetness coming through. A decent beer, but I’m glad someone else brought it tonight. Jayb0 (752), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 9, 2004 Pleasant if straightforward brown ale. Dawk brown, tan head recedes quickly to film. Malt in the nose, creamy and malty. Balanced decently to keep it drinkable. A bit nutty with a hint of milk chocolate. jpknight22 (171), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Nice pour out of the tap, good body and head. Much more to offer than their IPA or Pumpkin Spice... Slightly matly nose with a slightly sweet almost chewy, chocolatey palate. Finish is reminescent of a bitter meets Newcastle... Not bad.
