| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Sample with friends at the brewclub’s Teach A Friend To Brew meet 11/8/2009. Typical brown beer with khaki head. Aroma of sweet dark malt. Flavor is fairly good, with sweet dark malts, nuts, chocolate, and bread. Rather mild and easy drinking, medium body. If you like brown ales, this is a good one, but brown ale is not one of my favorite styles, and I wouldn’t go looking for it. Still a solid beer. Elwood (684), Leesburg, Virginia, USA

Appearance: Clear brown color with a foamy, off-white head. Okay head retention but not much in the way of lacing.
Aroma: Light nose with notes of nuts, a bit of chocolate, and bread.
Flavor: A bit on the watery side with notes of nuts, malt sweetness, a bit of caramel, chocolate, and some bread.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-light mouthfeel and a medium-short, sweet finish.
Overall: Very middle of the road for a brown ale. Nothing spectacular here by any means. SuIIy (1504), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jul 30, 2009 Bottle: (An infected one) Pours a deep ruby brown with a khaki film of head. Tart and nutty aroma- some aceto seems to have accumulated over a dark crystal malt and toasted nutty suggestion. Light body. Infected flavor- some soft aceto bacteria covers up, what seemed like a decent nutty and toasted crystal malt body. I need to sample one that’s not infected, this was almost a borderline, sub par Flemish Red.
