The beer pours to a hazy chestnut colored body with a thin creamy white head that instantly dissipates. The aroma is cream cheese covered pumpkin bars. Nice light cinnamon and nutmeg spice. Perhaps touches of carrot cake. Moderate nice feeling palate that has a light stickiness to it. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 2, 2007 dark amber copper color w/ a nice light tan head and some ok lacing. Flavor is definatelly like fresh pumpkin bars w/ some extra cinnamon and nutmeg and hints of carmels. Palate is pretty avg at best. Flavor is a little rank... over done nutmeg and sour something then some sweet malts.. just not good.. i don’t wants no more. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 2, 2007 Dirty copper body, thin soapy off-white head. Meaty pumpkin soaked gingerbread aroma. Nice but a little overwhelming/annoying. Flavor is slightly soured pumpkin. A little watery and slight soapy hops, but no real malt character to me. That makes it blah. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 17, 2006 Bottle from Suttree. Medium copper body, thin-medium off-white head. Pumpkin pie spice (nutmeg, cinnamon) and sweet malt aroma. Tangy body with strong nutmeg and cinnamon flavors coating the palate. Something akin to coconut finishes the beer. A bit more interesting than the pack. 505 (271), Echo Park, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 28, 2006 Aroma is nice, smells like pumpkin bread, with some nutmeg sprinkled on top. Flavor is cloves and pumpkiny, sweet and delicious. Relatively thing bodied. Some people hate on this and claim it’s too pumpkiny, but I’m kind of sick of beers where you have to try to notice the pumpkin. A nice seasonal beer, worth buying when you’re digging the fall. Probably my favorite pumpkin beer. Kinz (2215), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 10, 2006 Not sure why I even bother with pumpkin beers, but I can’t stop myself. Medium orange brown. Aroma was clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Flavor matched. A touch thinner than I cared for, and I detected no pumpkin, just the traditional pumkin pie spices. But not horrible at least. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 16, 2006 Pint, on tap @ MacGregor Draft House. Served too cold for my preference. Ok nose that did get better as it warmed. Nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin, little soapy. Maybe the glass. Seemed more like a yeastiness though. Hazed brownish orange color, small head with minor lace. Sweet spiced flavor, like aroma. More nutmeg & cinnamon than pumpkin flavor. Medium body, creamy viscous mouthfeel, spiced sweet finish. Good pumpkin, like alot of others in it’s style. Is there a central recipe for this style? shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 16, 2006 I must admit that I rather enjoyed this brew. A noseful of pumpkin and nutmeg, with that plus cinnamon in the flavor. Gently understated alcohol flavoring. Could use a bit more carbonation, but all in all a smooth, nice, autumn brew.
