| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 12, 2008 12 oz bottle. Hazy amber with a tight tan head. Nose is full of fresh pumpkin, lightly spiced with nutmeg and hints of clove and ginger. Very pumpkin pie flavored, which is nice - many try, but few hit it on the nose like this. If the body was a bit richer, this would be an amazing dessert beer. Still, a good seasonal brew. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 10, 2008 When I think Pumpkin beer, I think Cottonwood. Every year I buy 2 or 3 six packs of this one. It’s the first pumpkin beer I ever had and it defines the style in my mind. Much sweeter than other pumpkin beers. I get strong notes of cinnamon and nutmeg on top of the obvious pumpking and allspice. Creamy mouthfeel. Attractive orange color. I think I’ll open another. Oakes (8108), gone rambling, Cambodia
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 4, 2008 Amber colour with a slight haze. Big nose of pumpkin, nutmeg and a little clove. Sweet palate, very spicy. Quite dessert-like even for a pumpkin beer with lovely sugars, pumpkin accents and smooth but assertive spicing. Nicely rounded example. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 3, 2008 Bottle, at Charlotte airport. Warm, hazy autumnal hue. Lots of nutmeg and pie filling in the nose. Slightly fizzy but not too bad. Goes through a lot of flavors. Starts off with pure pumpkin, then passes through a layer of spice, and ends with a dollop of cream. Sweet and spicy both. A pretty darn good job. CaptainChaos (13), , North Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2008 I had this beer last fall with a buddy and it was good. It had a nice pumpkin taste and aroma. I am a huge fan of pumpkin pie and this honestly tasted like one. dkachur (2402), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Pours a hazy reddish brown with almost no head. Big spice aroma. All the usual suspects. It’s pleasant but a bit too much. Straightforward malty taste with pumpkin pie and caramel notes. Again, too overly spiced. Medium bodied. paiste2002 (158), Saugus, California, USA

Pours a dark amber with an off white head.
Aroma of nutmeg, cinamon, clove and pumpkin. Taste was of lite spice, malt, pumpkin and very thin mouth feel. Left a nice pumpkin pie after taste. Over all not a bad fall brew, just a touch thin for my taste. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
