This beer smells like pumpkin pie filling that comes from a can. It is a pretty sweet aroma. It also has a sweet pumpkin taste with some hints of other spices in the background. It’s not a bad pumpkin ale, but it is a little sweeter than I would like, and the taste of pumpkin really overwhelms any other flavor. radagast83 (1315), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 12, 2007 Bottle. Color was an orangeish amber color. Head was small white. The aroma was light in spices (nutmeg and cloves) and actually relatively strong in pumpkin. The flavor actually tasted a bit like pumpkin! I was very impressed as so many pumpkin beers don’t really taste like pumpkin so much as they taste like pumpkin pie. TheEpeeist (1477), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA

Faint nutmeg and clove. Medium light, light carb. Minimal pumpkin taste, if any, with mild spices. A hint of lemony tang keeps this from getting too bland. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

The finish was clean. iowaherkeye (1872), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 28, 2007 12oz, no date from NachlamSie, thanks Ben for the bonus! Clear orange copper with a small beige head, fading to a ring before long. The first beer I’ve ever had that smelled like A1 steak sauce--I actually want a steak now. Aside from that, this is one of the spicier pumpkin beers--nutmeg and cinnamon strongest, some pumpkin and bread crust are a bit lighter. There was almost a hint of fall leaves. Flavor even has a bit of salt and tanginess akin to A1. I know lots of things are salty and tangy, but this is just like A1. Otherwise, nutmeg, cinnamon, very light pumpkin, and some weird lactose like sweetness for a finish. No bitterness. Thin body with moderate carbonation. The flavors of this didn’t meld well for me. It’s how steak is done®--not beer. shrubber85 (2984), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2007 Bottle. Sour pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon aroma. Cloudy orange-brown with small head. Strong pumpkin malt and cinnamon/nutmeg/mace flavor - spices more subdued than in the aroma. Very nice beer. Beffrey2 (27), Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, USA

Basically, thats what it tasted like...pumpkin! It was a bit watered down though. Nothing special overall. Had it on draft at bass lake ale house, Holly Springs North Carolina.
