Aroma of deep grainy malt with some toasted brown bread. Some honey drizzled on top and sprinkled with winter spices (minus the cinnamon). A very earthy hop mixes nicely with a yeasty spice. I also pick up a very faint banana. Flavors of sweet malt and honey dominate. Not quite syrupy, but sweet. Suikerbrood. Light raisin and a touch of grain behind it. Green herbal bitterness coming from the back. Light vegetal. The bitterness doesn’t seem to blend with the sweetness, or compensate for it either. A bit two sided with the honey and sugary malt on the one side and herbal bitterness on the other. A divided beer. Wim (1278), Turnhout, Belgium Oct 17, 2008 amber coloured sparkling body with a white head a spicy malty aroma a sweet malty spicy taste with a sweet fruity bitter finish Yves (989), Beerse, Belgium Oct 13, 2008 Hazy amber coloured beer with small white head, medium carbonation. Herby, sweet perfumed (spice) aroma. Full sprankling sweet palate. Finish is bit dry herby, some special sweet taste (spicy, bit taste like drinking champagne). Good one. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Sep 22, 2008 Brown-bronze beer with golden highlights; fast gone white, irregulatr head. Quite spicy nose, coriander to the fore, and initially some other, fresh-smelling herb. Certainly NOT camphor! Coriander, sweet caramel on toast. Oh, and coriander, next to gingerbread spices. Sweet. And coriander... Light-ish MF, quite slick, even a bit sticky after some time. Overcoriandered. Generally much more spicy than I remember from long ago. Difficult to find, too.
