Bottle 0,33ltr: Quite different strange brew with loads of spices, fruits and Ground-ivy (wich once used in beer before the used hops).

Draft at The Trappist. The strangest beer I’ve had for some time... Murky copper pour with a frothy ivory head. Strange, vegetal nose with notes of spices and musty citrus. Extremely vegetive flavor. Perhaps its the power of suggestion but it tastes like ivy; I don’t think I like ivy. Somewhat malty with some spice. I really don’t know what to say about this beer but I know I couldn’t finish it.

Pale brown colour. Aroma is quite chemically, with the smell of washing up liquid. It has a sweet, shandy like taste leaving some sugary sweetness on the lips. Lacks body in the mouth but does leave a warming aftertaste.

This Belgian strong ale pours a medium brown color from tap. Large sized white foamy head. Aroma is vegetative and herbal. A medium bodied BSA. The malts are fruity and sweet. There are strong flavors of herbs (ivy, lime and coriander), as well as a touch of vanilla. This is one funky beer, and no it’s not THAT kind of funk. Its kind of sweet, but it has that huge dose of herbal ivy. Strange beer. This may be one of the strangest beers I’ve ever tasted. I am still not sure if I liked it or not. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Bottle. Clear light amber color with a averaage, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, lime, brown sugar, spices, coriander, orange. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet, light acidic and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. (061207)

(Bottled) Hazy amber with a small, partly lasting head. Aroma of caramely malt, some fruit, and hints of sewer. A straightforward, malt-accented, slightly caramely-sweet flavor with slight acidity. Medium-bodied palate with quite balanced carbonation. A very basic and a bit acidic, but pleasantly malty and smooth brew.

Hazy darker blond coloured beer with some light carbonation and an average white head. Fruity hoppy and spicy aroma. Medium palate. Finish is sweet with a fruity and again rather herby touch. Not bad.

Bottle, 25 cl. Hazy dark gold-amber color with nice beige head. Taste: very malty, and caramel ? Good balance.
