Not much aroma, very simple flavours and served quite warm even for a bitter. Very drinkable though, but nothing to really differentiate it from the pack. mkel07 (547), Brisbane, Australia

Appears full bodied in the glass with a spicy hop aroma . Well balanced and good medium level of bitterness. Fruity flavour with a strong aftertaste. Good well rounded offering. bobinlondon (843), Harrow, Greater London, England

I remember when it was brewed in London during the 70’s. It was really decent when you could find although there wasn’t many competitors locally in it’s class. It’s changed brewers 3 times since then and has seemingly worsened each time. The Bedford brewed version has not reversed the trend. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Apr 5, 2009 For an English bitter this does not get a particularly high rating and it is easy to see why. This is a pretty poor bitter in my opinion. Taste is quite unpleasant and they add caramel to the flavour to try and add something special but this just does not do it for me, a very flat pint indeed and I feel it shall be retired before too long. A grand copper ale with clinging creamy head.
Horses, wet horses and damp colicky hay. Wet fur is definitely all over this along with some grapey fruitiness.
Fruity and light in the mouth. This would make a grand breakfast beer. Hints of everything with no real dominating character.
IT is thin in texture but it does linger which is a definite upside.
Herbal notes lend this an interesting edge, it appears different with each sip.
