A totally black coloured beer with a small ring of tan coloured bubbles. The aroma is vinuous and oily. Licquorice notes and signs of mustiness. The taste is intense. Soy sauce notes. Dry but not over roasty. Thick, gloopy and very sippable. A gorgeous beer. elektronikfagtekniker (892), kbh, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 29, 2006 My number 1000 had to be something special. This was bottled in 1980 and part of a batch that I saved for a rainy day. Twenty six years on and it was with some anticipation that I opened the nip sized bottle. It poured dark brown and looked a little sludge like. No carb anmd tasted a little port like. Lingering fruitiness but no real life and left some sediment. No doubt at its peak it was a superb beer but now its just something different.Mind you I was a bit different too when I bought it all those years ago! goldtwins (4081), Nesconset, New York, USA

You can smell the age on this one and it turned out very nice. Dark choclate, prunes, cheese that fades after a moment and alcohol. The aroma is sweet and deep. The flavor has a mild tartness to start. Notes of chocolate, roasted malt, and dark fruits. Nice smooth mouthfeel but didn’t seem to be flat. bluevegie (2204), Perth, Australia

Drinkable but may not last much longer. anders37 (4700), Malmö, Sweden
