(Rating #2735)

Bottle from a recent trip to Ontario. Pours a clear orange hued gold with some white remnants of a head that vanish nearly immediately. Crisp apple flesh and a touch of champagne yeast. Quite sweet, really sugary, with some light caramel notes and big apple flavors. Finishes up still too sweet. A touch hard to finish.

Bottle 500 ml
Appearance: amber gold with hint of copper, loose white top.2 +
Nose: sour green and red apple, fruity character, dry top. 5+
Flavor/Palate : lighter bodied with underdeveloped frontal apple character. Late hints show with time, feel of average quality produce. Cracked apple indeed.

Copper orange pour with no head. Very strong and sweet apple scent. Odd taste. Not reaplly ’appley’. Kind of bready, overly sweet. Very odd.

Bottle from the LCBO. Rich golden colour and a fairly fresh apple aroma. Body is lively at first - perhaps a bit too lively, suggesting artificial carbonation - but it settles to a pleasant level after a few minutes. Flavour is fairly apple-y, but it’s also quite sweet, to the point that it starts to get cloying as it warms. Not bad, but not something I’ll be drinking again.

[1991-20090205] 500mL bottle. Tart apple juice aroma. Clear, dark yellow body with no head. More tart apple juice in the flavour. Light-medium body. Poor.

Ohhhh! The tenth and ’landmark’ rating... thanks to Mable and Jerc. Ehh Apple juice coloured with no head and a little visible carbonation. Aroma: A muted apple and fruit aroma with mild sweetness too. Flavour: Again, very mild apple, some pear and a nice sweet finish. Not an outstanding cider but not bad.
