Light grapefruit aroma. Dry, clean and crisp. light bodied - perhaps too much so. Quite hoppy with medium bitterness. A very drinkable summer beer, but the light body in combination with clean mouthfeel makes it a bit sharp. Scaling their regular IPA down didn’t really work all that well, but it’s stil a worthwile effort. WeeHeavySD (3040), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

Pours orange with a bright white 1 finger head. Nose is slightly hoppy with a touch of citrus. Taste is hoppy with a bit of citrus as well. This for me was a big old eh. riversideAK (2770), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 12, 2007 Had at the Mammoth Brewfest and Stone 11th Anniversary. The brewer told me it was half an IPA. Hazy gold orange with a mild hop aroma. Flavor is a nice balance of sweet bready malt and citrus pine hops, but with half the quantity of a regular IPA. Light bodied. Perfect for session drinking. A fantastic beer. Vac (2394), San Diego, California, USA

Pours with an orange-gold body topped by a thin head with little to no lacing. It’s slightly sweet and toasty with a grassy note and lots of noble hops. A nice English style IPA. Light to medium bodied and slightly dry yet smooth. badlizard (2373), Berkeley, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2008 an almost budweiser color, complete with bright white head. nose had spice-accented hop characteristics, a little musty, with hints of orange. hoppy flavors were very dry and orange like and the finish was sometimes grainy and chalky. the yeast here does not seem to contribute anything positive the overall beer but rather lets the hops and malts alone try to make this beer, and the hops and malts certainy need some help. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 14, 2007 On draft at O’Briens. Hazy amber with a small whitish head and spots of lace. Mild aroma with light toasty notes, complemented by bright and juicy floral and citrus hops. Somewhat thin, toasty malt back bone, generous hop character, lemon peel, floral and somewhat resiny flavors, blossoming into a nice tangy hop finish and astringent aftertaste. Light body with gently crisp carbonation. I’ll agree with Papajohn - this is more of an extra pale ale.
