Tastes of caramel, malt, fruit, alcohol, and a hint of vanilla with a semi-dry finish. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 11, 2008 Murky amber. Big, bright caramel nose with white pepper. Caramel malts to the fore with earthy accents and hints of vanilla. Somewhat minerally finish. Dogbrick (2266), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 8, 2008 Sample at San Diego Brewing Company. Pours a clear dark amber color with a thin beige head that recedes steadily. Spotty lacing. Aroma of yeast, malt and light peppery hops. Medium-bodied and clean with flavors of yeast, fruit and spices. Sweet caramel malt undertones as well. The finish is spiced with a fruity aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
