Taste is winey, light maltiness, with alcohol, and tannins. Interesting, but not something I’d get again. SamGamgee (1434), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 9, 2009 Draught at The Red. Appropriately served in a red wine glass. Distinctly strawberry aroma with some grape and malt. The flavor is a little confusing though, lacking the acidity to make the cabernet pop, and not really offering up much clear malt. Fruity and grapey though. Some more carbonation would have helped the palate out. Definitely more interesting than actually good, but this was pretty cool to try. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 10, 2009 Aroma of sweet grape juice. Appearance is ruby red in color with a thick pink foamy head. Flavor is dominated by a wine-like grapeiness, with just a hint of sour mash backing it up. More body and substance than say sparkling grapejuice, and different than pretty much anything I’ve ever had. Bravo Craftsman!

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Glass thanks to Mark at Craftsman. Pours a hazy purple to red color with a very generous white head that stays for the duration. Aroma is a bit spicy, and vinous with grapes. Taste is very nice, with a bit of tart grapes (albeit not sour), and some nice Belgian yeast esters that add a bit of spiciness. Smooth mouthfeel. Light carbonation. Pleasant beer. Very well hidden alcohol if it really is 8%. alexanderj (2247), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 4, 2009 On tap at Blind Lady AH. Color was reddish, purple with a strange colored head. Aroma of grapes, sugar and fruit; pretty sweet. Flavor was very fruity and wine like; very close to a sangria, although not a great version of sangria. Sweet. Just not my cup of tea, or wine. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2009 Draught at Toronado SD. Alright, you can call this a chick beer if there ever was such a thing but I liked it. Pours a hazy reddish colour with a pink and tan head. Aroma is sweet grapes. Very smooth flavour heavy on the dark grapes but not overpowering the malt. Is malty sangria a plausible description? Never would have guessed the 8 ABV either.
