bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Jul 26, 2009 (Draught) Pours a hazy amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet tarts, white grapes, light apple, and some herbal notes. Flavor of hops (earthy, herbal), apple, and green raisins with a dry finish. daleharshman (181), San Diego, California, USA Jul 22, 2009 Tap at Stone Sour Fest 2009. Pours a dark amber color. Weak aroma of light funk as well as some malt. Flavor is kind of surprisingly on the sweet side with some malt and a nice funk. Tart finish. One of the better ones of the day. BMan1113VR (2757), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Jul 21, 2009 On tap at Stone Sourfest. Pours with a hazy golden hue and a small white head. Aroma of raisins, and light tart grape. Taste is much the same with raisins, grapes grape and a light funk. Light carbonation. wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Mar 2, 2009 On tap at Stone. Another beer I missed at the Sour fests. Amber color. Nice sour tartness. Lactic sour, little or no acetic acid. Kind of like a cherry tartness. Easy to drink. Delicious. JohnnyJ (1283), Carlsbad, California, USA Feb 26, 2009 On tap at stone. Pours a hazy orangish yellow, with white head. Nice aroma, sourness, bread, and tart apple. The flavor is not quite as good. Light fruit, sour apple, hints of cherry, grain, and a little wood. Not to complex or sour. Mediocre sour ale. ajm (903), Los Angeles, California, USA Feb 24, 2009 Tap at Lucky Baldwin’s. Not done well for a Sour. Aroma starts off boring with no yeast or grass notes, only a watery, floury tart smell. Flavor’s top notes are thin, young, and tartly cherry; the immediate bottom notes are rusty, grainy malt and are unpleasant. No balance, no midbody. I love Craftsman but this is not their best. Bartzilla (441), San Diego, California, USA Feb 23, 2009 On tap @ Blind Lady. A pleasant Flanders style sour ale. Not too sour, easy drinking and enjoyable as any other I’ve had. A nice treat. JohnC (2230), Mission Viejo, California, USA Feb 21, 2009 On tap at Lucky Baldwin’s Belgian fest
Pours a hazy yellow/orange with a small head, the flavor is slightly tart. Certainly not a ’big’ sour ale, but more of one that you can sit back relax and sip for a while.
