Great grapefruit, honey, fruit, and pine aroma. Creamy palate. Honey sweet with earthy citrus and pine taste transitioning to an orange flavor and finishing with a hoppy perfume taste in the back of the mouth. Excellent beer. ajm (965), Los Angeles, California, USA

Saved my perception of this beer. What I took was that this is maltier than most - caramel malt at that. I don’t think it gets to diacetyl, just caramel. Thick texture. The hops are peppery and remind me very much of Hallertau. Really a treat. can8ianben (913), Pasadena, California, USA

He mentioned that it took courage to brew a quality IPA and not just make a malty beer with an overwhelmingly large quantity of hops added. I think after trying this that I agree. This is very well balanced, it has a sweet smoothness, but is also very dry and bitter on the finish. A big fresh pine needle scent with lots of flowery citrus notes. Its an orange color with a nice frothy white head. herbjones (742), Orange, California, USA

I like that they didnt just boost the malt to compensate for over the top hops. Light copper with a light head that just stays as a fine lace throughout. Citrus/herbal nose.Medium light body that just adds to this beers drinkability. Nice hop bitterness at the finish. Slightly sweet with some tropical fruit notes. An excellent warm weather brew! omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden

Hazy deep golden. Grapefruity hop aroma. The deeply aromatic hops really dominate this beer, but there is sufficient malt to balance it. The mouthfeel is soft, and the finish has lingering orangey hop bitternes. Well made typical US west Coast IPA. Schultsc (486), Henderson, Nevada, USA

Good malt back bone. A refreshing citrusy IPA but no face cringer. I love IPA’s and this was no disappointment. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 1, 2007 Draught. Clear, orange-amber body with a small creamy white head. Toasted biscuit malts in the aroma in addition to grass, orange, and citrus fruits. Well balanced right off the bat with a wide assortment of flavours. Grapefruit and pine intermingle leading into some doughy biscuits.
Enjoyed a pint at Lucky Baldwins on March 21, 2007.
