Marc (472), Yokosuka, Japan Sep 10, 2004 Big rye and cake in the nose. Creamy mouthfeel with tobbacco and toffee, carmel and a touch of hops. Finishes with caramel. DrunkAsASkunk (848), Lynnwood, Washington, USA Feb 29, 2004 Definitely not the most exciting beer Ive ever sampled at a fest or from Craftsman. To be honest, this one disappointed me. It poured an amber color with a thin sheet of pearlish head. The aroma was full of rye, bread, hops, citrusy orange, and something of a stir fry smell..very funky and hard to describe. The taste was super peppery, and I didnt dig that all too much. Very spicy and dry with bready qualities and souring citrus. Some peaches, salts and grapefruit skins in the aftertaste. This has so much going on, that the combination of tastes made this a disaster in the finish. I didnt understand this beer at all...not very impressive. herbjones (742), Orange, California, USA Oct 30, 2003 Sampled @ Pizza Port Real Ale Festival 2003.Beautiful copper brew with a full head that sticks around till the end of the glass. Nice hoppy nose. Has a sharpness almost tangy aspect to the flavor that I find fascinating. Slightly sweet front with a good bitter finish.
21iceman40 (1671), north little rock, Arkansas, USA Jun 4, 2003 A very simple amberish brew with a small head on it. Nice floral aroma with some sugarishness to it, actually this tastes like a combination of a glazed jelly donut and tapioca pudding.
