Cask Handpump at the Beer House, Manchester 01/03/2003 Dark red colour. Poured lively. Lasting slight roast finish.

Very dark with little to no head. Roasted malts dominate the nose with a yummy hint of coffee bean. Thin and light, this could be the first ’session stout’! Very smooth and enjoyable. At the tasting, I kept saying, ’I haven’t tried that stout yet...’ Luckily someone handed me a full pint to shut me up for a while.
