(Draught) Sampled at the Great Canadian Beer Festival 2008 on September 7th. Pours a mild, watery headless beer. Yikes, smells like a lager. Thin, very weak flavour. Not a good start to this festival. 5/2/4/2/9

Growler driven back to Calgary and enjoyed 3 days from the brewery. Minimal short but lasting head. Dark mahogany. Smells like a brown! Roasted malt with a hint of prune. Flavour is rich coffee and plum with some nuts. Body is thick.

Opaque brown, malty, medium body. No chocolate notes. Sweeter as you drink it. A hint of sour cherry. Try before you buy. Not a popular brew so it’s often not in the best of shape.

Dark brown. Very chocolatey, toasty aroma. Very aromatic. Light, sweet character with hints of toasty. Smooth - actually could have used a bit more carbonation to carry the flavours along. Hint of toffee is the finish.

Had at Sailor Hagars on tap. Dark brown, with some red tint and a medium sized diminshing head. Aroma was of light chocolate and some nuts, but a little thin. Flavour was better with some cocoa, and roasted malt. Smooth but not rich enough

On tap at Sailor Hagar’s. Dark brown, clear, with a bit of a ruby tint and a thick tan head. Chocolate malt, caramel, cola, and a bit of alcohol in the aroma. Flavour is pretty good, chocolate, cola, a bit thin bodied, but still interesting.

Dark amber in color with some malty coffee aromas. It was watery and possibly tasted old. Balanced malt/hop combination and finished a bit dry.
