Draught at the brewpub, though it was spelled "Hefe Weissen" on the board. Light hazy gold with a creamy white head. Aroma of wheat, cloves, faint banana, and floral perfume. The flavor is crisp and lightly sweet with a nice clove spice. Wheat shows in the flavor, but there is no tartness and fruity esters are less obviously banana driven, making a drier, spicier profile. Light bodied with prickly carbonation. A well attenuated, crisp, and very drinkable beer. I like that the esters are restrained, which is often not the case with brewpub bavarian wheat beers in my experience.
