Bottled. Poured crystal-clear light-medium orange with a short-lived cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up sweet caramel and earthy notes with dried floral and grassy accents.. quite well balanced. The flavor also had a sweet impression, with lightly-toasted nutty notes joining the caramel at the core.. grainier on the back-end.. light citrusy and grassy bitterness throughout.. again well-balanced and tasty. Lighter-bodied with a bit less carbonation than it felt like this needed on the palate.. all in all a very easy drinker.

Bottle thanks to matt7215. Pours a nice amber with thick white head. Aroma of sweet malt, slight hops, and caramel. Flavor matches well and very refreshing. Nice overall brew, despite the knocks for it being a lager from other raters.

Yeasty nose, with pancakes. Macedamia nut mouth, opening up to delicious sweet malt and finishing with more nuts - this time peanuts. Close to over carbonated.

Draught at McSorley’s. Pours a clear golden amber with decent sized white head. Mild caramel malt aroma with slight fruitiness. Nice sweet caramel malty flavour with again a hint of fruitiness. Smooth mouthfeel. Still have a soft spot for this - an enjoyable lager.

Pours gold from the can, white head. Sweet malt flavor. I thought this was really overrated for a lager though, I didn’t think it was anything special. Decent flavor for something out of Molson though.

473 mL Can. Deep gold body with a quickly dissipating bubbly white head leaving a bit of spotty lacing. The aroma is grainy-earthy with a mustiness about it. The flavor is sweet malt with skunky hops being very pronounced in the aftertaste, ending in a skunky finish. I couldn’t find any date on the can but this must be a bad sample or a bad batch. For whatever reason, this is some very expen$ive swill.

Okay, to be honest with you I don’t know what’s going on here. I’m not sure if anything has changed since Molson bought it (the brewery promises they haven’t) but I used to like it a whole lot more. Maybe sales have gone up and it’s not getting enough aging time, or quality control has dipped a little, or possibly it’s all just in my head knowing that Molsoncoors is filling the mash but for a couple years now something is different. The beer still looks smashing in the glass - a nice dark gold - but I’m always getting excess diacetyl in the flavor. Personally, I’m very intollerant to diacetyl so it seems to bother me more than others. As i go through my pint here, the beer is fading on me too, tasting flat, alcoholly and more diacetyl as it warms. Over rated.

Rich golden in colour, which dictates the taste. The hoppy, freshness of the beer makes it one of the best lagers produced in Canada. Nice finish with some light malts. How many can I drink, ask the question!
