Commercial Description:
The first pilsner was brewed in 1842, over a hundred years ago, in the Bohemian town of Plzen. Revolutionary at the time, it was a fired-brewed beer characterized by a rich golden colour, sweet malty flavour and an abundance of hops. Our brewmaster visited the Czech Republic to study their methods and in honour of our 20th anniversary we are proud to share his interpretation of this classic beer style. Similar to original pilsners, our direct fire brewing process and combination of specialty malts yield a beer with a deep golden colour and delicious malt flavours. Natural spring water creates a soft pure background on which Czech hops impart a fresh fragrant aroma and bitter finish.

473ml can from trade with matt7215. Gold colour. White rocky head, decent retention. Aroma is grainy, a little dusty with some slight herb /grass hop. Malty, almost toasty flavour. Some grassy bitterness in the finish. Light bodied, carbonation is soft. Decent.

Golden clear with mid sized foamy head. Aroma is grassy hops and some light bready malts. Thin and slightly sweet with the euro after taste. Not bad.

Bottle. Nose-raw, grainy, rabbit urine. Taste-medium bitter, sweet honey, medium hops, sweet finish, corn grains, kinda raw finish. Unremarkable except for the sweetness. Slightly salty with a big malt backbone.

473ml Can: Pours more amber in colour than I’d expected, quite a good sized white head. Good hoppy aroma, nice sweetness; so far so good. The flavour is quite sweet with malts, bready, with background hopping. It’s well balanced. I wouldn’t put it in King and Brickman territory for Ontario pils’, but it’s a decent treatment.

A nice orange amber colour with a small head that is quickly disappearing. It is fragrant, flowery, and lightly hopped with a weak, soft carbonation. Overall, nicely done and true to form. Fresh-tasting with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. However, the malts do give off a corny feel in the finish, often seems a little too sweet or cheap...

Hoppy aroma with a bit of malt, amber, pours a fair sized white head, some lace also. Flavour is malt, some decent bitterness, biscuity. Clean, crisp, balanced and bitter. Very nice offering. Happy Anniversary!

Can. Gold, light head of tiny bubbles. Aroma of grass with hints of vegetable and bread yeast. Enjoyable bready beer. Faint taste of pepper and a decent body.

bright yellow/gold color. Nose is quite grainy, and grassy. Flavour is got a tinge of sweet malt, but i expected more. It’s kinda bland, i was expecting a bit more of a malt profile. A decent beer, but i’m still a little disapointed.
