rederic (1785), montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 19, 2007 473ml can, bright yellow gold color, with a rocky white head, with a piney floral hop nose, with some cedary and coniferous accents, with some herbal spicy notes, and some sweet pale malts in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a good clean saaz flowery hop character, with some leafy, grassy and cedary hop flavors, a subtle mintiness, crisp pale malt, leading towards a hoppy, dry finish. mephisto (1144), Taiwan Jul 17, 2007 interesting pilsner, if it’s a pilsner. the pronounced malt profile suggests a munich type of brew, but anyway. golden hue with quickly dissipating white head, the aroma is sour malt with hint of caramel. caramel aftertaste. Crockett (904), Steelback County, Ontario, Canada Jul 7, 2007 Pours gold with a nice fine bubble white head. Some lacing. Nose of cut grass and some wheat/cereal grains. Flavour is fairly solid, but not hoppy enough to be a Bohemian. Clean and well made. Just north of average.
matt7215 (942), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Jul 7, 2007 473ml can. pours golden with very small white head that leaves nice lacings. aromas are of sweet grass. flavours are crisp and tight with a good hops and malt balance. finish is crisp and tight, a nice way to wrap up a good pilsner. caledonian (367), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jul 6, 2007 Can. Pours a golden color with tall frothy head. Light malty presence with a bitter finish. A little syrupy. RollinHard (748), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Jul 3, 2007 Pours a deep golden straw color with a moderate head. Grassy aroma overall, fainter traces of peppery hops and earth. Pretty full and slightly sweet flavor or pepper, dirt, hay, a sweeter than normal pilsner malt flavor. Good spicy and flavorful hop finish. Beer felt plenty full for the style and had lots of flavor. Not a big pilsner fan, but this had a lot of good things going for it. JesseM (660), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Jul 3, 2007 Updated: Feb 1, 2008473ml can (473? what? Lets not go crazy and add the extra 27 milileters guys geez)("You know, because 474ml is just pushing it, and 472ml? Pfffff, haha, 72? Like get serious...that’s childs play"). Pours a nice golden colour, with a lot of head, not as pale as other pilsners. Looks moderately carbonated, and the aroma is mostly hops and alcohol (mild for both), as well as a little corn and that strange creemore "fire brewing" scent. The head settled very quickly which is true to the style. The taste is actually quite nice, plenty of pils malt, with a noticeable hop presence in the finish and aftertaste. I didn’t like this the first time I had it, but after re-visiting, I’ve found that it is actually a pretty enjoyable brew. I do plan on buying again. StompBrockmore (300), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 2, 2007 473ml can - medium gold colour, nice foamy white head that dissipated quickly. Grassy/earthy Czech hops in the aroma - lightly floral hop nose. A bit of lemon. Flavour is crisp, and the malt backbone comes forward a bit more, the grainy hops coming forward towards the finish, leaving us with a solid sharp bitter note. Not an amazing pils and fairly standard, but decent nonetheless. The lager is still better I think, and I wish they’d have gone out more on a limb with this product.
