Damage (77), London, Ontario, Canada Aug 10, 2007 Very nice Pils from Creemore, first sampled at the London Beer Festival 2007. (500ml can) DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 19, 2009 CAN from lcbo, served cold in tall Czech pils crystal. Clear golden bubbly pour, medium-light viscosity. Aroma -some wet hay, mostly nice and open with fresh grass, grains and hops. Opens sweetly grassy with some bitterness that carries over a lingering hop finish. Slight edge from beginning vanishes yielding supreme drinkability. Lightly sweet malt taste and good body, not heavy. Extraordinarily sweet-drinking, delicate & fresh beer, Creemore’s simple genius here truly evokes a fresh Bohemian Pilsner. I could drink only this happily for some time! matt7215 (942), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Jul 7, 2007 473ml can. pours golden with very small white head that leaves nice lacings. aromas are of sweet grass. flavours are crisp and tight with a good hops and malt balance. finish is crisp and tight, a nice way to wrap up a good pilsner. Boutip (2333), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Nov 13, 2007 Can: Poured a golden yellow color pils with a nice foamy head with average retention and some minimal lacing. Aroma of medium sweet malt with some nice floral notes provided by the hops. Taste is also dominated by some notes of sweet malt with some nice hoppy floral notes. Very refreshing overall while respecting the style guideline. Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 15, 2009 ***review from Sept 24, 2007***
This stuff is great! Poured out a large thick, white cap on top of a crystal clear dark gold brew. Lots of ropy lacing. Plenty of biscuit malts and some softly spiced hops but every deep smell I take I smell armpit sweat....I checked my own armpits and it’s not me! Still worth a 7 though. Great flavour blended well with biscuit malts and some spicy and floral hops. Slightly sweet. Very well put together in the flavour department. Mouthfeel is nice with lots of soft carbonation, comes across nearing medium bodied with a very pleasant bitterness. This is no crappy Canadain pilsner. Good stuff. Thanks Faron for the brew, for letting me reassure him that he is my bitch at pool. Also thanks to Faron for the following: hitting me in the eye with a pepper encrusted gravy bomb, yelling at and abusing our bitch waitress, chasing his keys into traffic, not tearing his pants in half climbing a fence, not getting lost in the ravine near my house, puking all over the spare bedroom while he slept, attempting to wash the pillows and blankets without shaking them off and then missing his wifes best freinds wedding ceremony at the church the next day which caused me to instantly laugh in her face ( I couldn’t help it). Good thing you flew all the way from Ottawa for that one, eh? LOL! Party on, buddy! JustinBathurst (134), Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada Aug 20, 2007 Pours a dark gold with big head that disappears fairly quick.
It certainly smells like a pilsner--cut grass, celery, lemon. Big on the hops.
Crisp mouthfeel with good carbonation.
Taste is a well-balanced bitterness, grapefruit, and a drop of honey. Very drinkable and very surprising. I had pretty well assumed that this would be a bomb, considering the Molson purchase. I’m glad to see that it hasn’t yet affected the output of the brewery. That said, it doesn’t really go out of its way to justify being a special edition or whatever it is. It’s just a pilsner. MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Jun 2, 2007 This newest addition to the creemore lineup is by far the best. The pour releases an almost copper body, with a head that is frothy, and long lived. Good lace here as well. The aroma is chalk full of floral sazz and dripping with fresh hay and grass, with some good grainy rye notes. Czech sipcy hops fill the mouth with flavour, floral flavours follow. Fresh cut grass, greens, hay, a touch of lemon zest. Very crisp fizzy finish, lots of fresh hops, good bitterness in the finish. I’d say this is a fine classic example. Some of these ratings seem to be bashing the pilsner style instead of embracing a very well made one. RollinHard (748), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Jul 3, 2007 Pours a deep golden straw color with a moderate head. Grassy aroma overall, fainter traces of peppery hops and earth. Pretty full and slightly sweet flavor or pepper, dirt, hay, a sweeter than normal pilsner malt flavor. Good spicy and flavorful hop finish. Beer felt plenty full for the style and had lots of flavor. Not a big pilsner fan, but this had a lot of good things going for it.
