Commercial Description:
The first pilsner was brewed in 1842, over a hundred years ago, in the Bohemian town of Plzen. Revolutionary at the time, it was a fired-brewed beer characterized by a rich golden colour, sweet malty flavour and an abundance of hops. Our brewmaster visited the Czech Republic to study their methods and in honour of our 20th anniversary we are proud to share his interpretation of this classic beer style. Similar to original pilsners, our direct fire brewing process and combination of specialty malts yield a beer with a deep golden colour and delicious malt flavours. Natural spring water creates a soft pure background on which Czech hops impart a fresh fragrant aroma and bitter finish.

Clear lager with good deep golden appearance. Nice decent sized white head on top, semi creamy in character. Good proper stylistically look.
Sweet solid malty base at aroma . Sweet and rich with light green herbal hoppy attachment. Aroma wise malt character more blunt than in most pilsners . Hops more bitter green than hay Saaz like .
Fairly soft body , with appropriate amount of malts . Juicy brew even bit oily . Hops are marked and noted yet they sit as shy background to malty front. Interesting set up , softer Bohemian palate blended with harsher drier bitterness of hops used more often in Central and North Germany. Solid pils of mixed heritage.

Golden in colour, lingering white coloured head, some lacing, lots of visible carbonation. The aroma is sweet, grainy, some cereal, herbs and a bit of grass. The flavour is lightly bitter, toasty, grassy hops, pales malts, some bread. Moderatly bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes long, moderatly bitter, toasty. Nicely done, decent bitterness, crisp and clean.

473ml can from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario for $2.55.
Purchased on May 23, 2007 and opened on May 24, 2007.
No best before date.

Can. Really nice. Clear gold and not a very large head. Grassy/hoppy aroma and some mild sweetness and a crisp hint of hops. Goes down smooth, but definitely makes an impression. I’ll be stocking up for summer.

This is in no way a traditional pilsner, only in a very broad sense. Good malty aroma. It was so-so lagerish up front, and decent bitterness on back like a maibock hits me. Drinkable with some creamy mouthfeel, and overall, probably because so fresh and new, a decent refreshing and positive surprise beer. I would send it as a hitchhiker, but not worth especially trading for. Dry aftertaste.

Can (473ml). Looks a bit like apple juice - pale clear yellow, but has a decent shaving-creamy/rocky head. Very pleasing pils aroma - fresh-cut timothy and clover hops, very light sweet malt body. Ditto the taste - honey and clover for sure, and very fresh. Light, crisp body, only moderate carbonation, and just a hint of astringency through the quick, sweet, dry finish. I can’t find a fault with this - okay, maybe it’s a TAD sweet - but well done Creemore. This is easily better than the regular Creemore.

Another solid Creemore product, not as good as the urBock or Lager but still worth a try. Poured golden yellow with white head. Aromas of wheat grains and hops. Very clean taste of sweetened grains following through to a medium bitter hop finish. A very nice pilsner overall.

Pours a golden yellow, with a thin white film. Strangest aroma I think i’ve ever smelt, but enjoyable, very very grainey. Good solid malt base, with a touch of honey in the middle and a perfect hoppy finish a very well balanced beer. Carbonation is almost perfect, and the finish is very good. A top notch pilsner, probably one of my favourites of this style.

473ml Can. pours a nice golden/yellow color with a medium sized fluffy white head. the aroma is heavy on malt, with some hops, along with flowery and bready notes. Malt is also very present up front in the flavor folowed by some hops, with some light sweetness and definite grassy tones. Very fresh tasting with a decent bitter finish. I was hoping for a little bit more but its a solid addition to the creemore lineup.
