Commercial Description:
The first pilsner was brewed in 1842, over a hundred years ago, in the Bohemian town of Plzen. Revolutionary at the time, it was a fired-brewed beer characterized by a rich golden colour, sweet malty flavour and an abundance of hops. Our brewmaster visited the Czech Republic to study their methods and in honour of our 20th anniversary we are proud to share his interpretation of this classic beer style. Similar to original pilsners, our direct fire brewing process and combination of specialty malts yield a beer with a deep golden colour and delicious malt flavours. Natural spring water creates a soft pure background on which Czech hops impart a fresh fragrant aroma and bitter finish.

473ml can from trade with matt7215. Gold colour. White rocky head, decent retention. Aroma is grainy, a little dusty with some slight herb /grass hop. Malty, almost toasty flavour. Some grassy bitterness in the finish. Light bodied, carbonation is soft. Decent.

473 ml can: After what Molson did to the previously wonderful Creemore Lager, it’s going to take a lot more than this offering to win me over. It tastes like they threw some extra malts in a Moosehead Alpine and put it in some special packaging. Certainly not offensive at all but not worthy of a 20th anniversary.

473ml can - medium gold colour, nice foamy white head that dissipated quickly. Grassy/earthy Czech hops in the aroma - lightly floral hop nose. A bit of lemon. Flavour is crisp, and the malt backbone comes forward a bit more, the grainy hops coming forward towards the finish, leaving us with a solid sharp bitter note. Not an amazing pils and fairly standard, but decent nonetheless. The lager is still better I think, and I wish they’d have gone out more on a limb with this product.

473mL can. Pours with a huge head, settling into a light golden beer. Aroma is nondescript, but says nothing bad about the brew. There is a sweet / fruity quality on the tip of the tongue, transitioning through a small dose of alcohol to just the right amount of hoppy bitterness. The aftertaste lingers pleasantly. While this beer breaks no molds, I could drink these endlessly.

341 mL bottle. Standard hoppy pilsner aroma with some malt, though a little flat. Nice golden colour, with a decent white head that disappears pretty quickly. Hop flavour with a clean finish without bitterness. A pretty good pilsner, though it fails to make what can be a boring style interesting like it’s lager counterpart. Good stuff though!

437 mL can. Poured a light gold with a fluffy white head that soon retreated. Aroma not too distinctive, slightly hoppy. Grassy flavor, with little bitterness--little finish, actually. Certainly easy to drink, a better than average North American pilsner.

473 mL Can. Golden body with a small fizzy-foamy short-lived white head. Aroma of grassy hops, yeast, some malt sweetness, somewhat astringent. Sweet malt flavor with notes of citrus and overripe fruit, a hint of hard candy, a biscuit-like aftertaste followed with a hoppy finish that isn’t too overpowering. A good pick for a warm spring day.
