(On tap) Beautiful, deep mahogany with a reddish glow and a small, off-white head. Slightly impure nose with some burned malt. Medium body with lots of burned malt and an ashy edge. Bitter, burned finish. Apparently the brewery intended a Münchener Dunkel but ended up with a Schwarzbier - or rather a Dry Stout. Oh well, shit happens. Still a decent brew though. 270306

on tap-pours an off white ring for a head and copper color. Aroma is mild, somewhat sweet medium malt. Taste is somewhat sweet medium malt, secondary spice hops (Hallertau?) light body plus a bit.

Draft... Clear, mahogany lager with a large, frothy, off-white head. Good retention and ink-blot lacing. The nose is fairly nondescript, but holds some very light notes of chocolate. The flavor is well-bittered. Astringent with lively carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. Leaves the mouth bone-dry.

Good chocolatey malt…Reasonable mouthfeel…Served a bit too cold but still not very assertive when it warms up…

Pours light brown with a thin tan head. Smells of caramel, some tea. Tastes of dark fruit, vegetables, some sugary hints. Decent.

Dark mahogany-tinted brown with a moderate tan head. Roasted and burnt malt aroma is eclipsed by a bathroom mildew smell-- same as their red ale. Once again, dirty lines unfortunately killed this beer for me. I think it would be quite nice if it were untainted. Too bad.

Clear and deep brown with red highlights. Roasty and toasty; only a slight burntness. Rather watery at times. Overly acidic, sour and tart. Weak backbone.
