Crescent City Dunkle

sample at brewpub, NOLA. pours hazy brown. taste and aroma, an average dunkel weizen, reminded me of their regular heffe. wheat and grainy mouthfeel, banana palate with yeast, light malts and some floral hops with a low carbonation.Only substantial difference was the maltier touch to this dunkel.

Special beer of the night when I went to the brewhouse. Strong smell of bananas, toasted wheat and a little mustiness. Flavor is pretty standard for a Dunkle, with wheat, bananas and spices. Like many of the Crescent City brews, it was a solid German beer, but really nothing interesting.
