View from the balcony as I enjoyed this beer was nice too. While not particularly complex, this is a decent marzen-style lager that I enjoyed. boto (1339), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 9, 2003 Draught: It isn't quite red, as the name might make you think. It was more of a dark golden color, with maybe a tinge of red to it. It had a big, strong head that had good lacing. The nose was somewhat weak, with no hops there at all. Some sweetness to the nose. The taste was a bit sweet. Not bad, but not real exciting either. Andrew196 (1091), Katy, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 17, 2003 This is the "red" beer that every american brewpub must have. Why are they always marketed as "red" anyways? Is there something about the word that they think will make inexperienced drinkers go for it? Not much here, just some malty bitterness accompanied by a dry hop finish.....not bad I guess, but not too impressive. Brew4Dug (136), Houston, Texas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 22, 2003 If they would add a bit more hop to the balance, this would almost take on a style of it's own; and don't let the "red" in the title fool you. I gave it a couple points simply for the uniqueness, but otherwise very ordinary. jsquire (2113), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2003 Golden yellow with light, sweet malt aroma. Strong grain flavor/malty sweetness. Very nice bitter in the finish. Not as big as the Great Lakes, but a very well balanced beer.
