Very limited aroma - perhaps with a faint touch of caramel. Medium body with an immediate moldy touch, which fortunately vanishes rather quickly leaving a marked bitter hoppy finish - and nothing much else really. Unusually hoppy for a Vienna. 270306 jcwattsrugger (5573), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Malty aroma. A touch floral with notes of milk chocolate and toasted nuts. Decent malt backbone. A touch metallic and just a bit too harshly bittered. There are some very light chocolate and grapefruit and orange rind notes in the flavor. Medium-bodied and silky with lively carbonation. Lengthy, bitter finish. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 1, 2003 Clear amber with a lofty, lasting head. Slightly watery, though malt flavor/texture tries hard to keep it real. Slightly tart nip in the finish with a lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall, not offensive, but lacking a lot. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 27, 2007 Clear slightly-orange amber with a moderate off-white head. Musty mildew tainted aroma eclipses the faint caramel, offputting. Fairly unremarkable crystal malt palate, but overshadowed by the mildew taint. This was the same problem with the black forest. I politely pointed this out to the serving staff, and asked how often the lines were cleaned-- she didn’t know. Disappointing. Aurelius (2654), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2005 Glowing light orange-amber. Toasty malt aroma over raisins. Grassy, green potatoes, seedy oktoberfest flavor. Lightly sweet and nutty. Finishes medium quick and lightly bitter and vegetable.. Session weight.
