FishManLA (149), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Apr 27, 2008 On tap at the Crescent City Brewhouse which is the only place I know of where you can get their brews. "Red" is a misnomer. It’s more a brass/copper color. Thin quickly dissipating fizzy head. Surprisingly potent nose of malts, smells like fresh baked bread. Such a nice aroma that I sat there smelling it for awhile before tasting. Taste is hoppy and dry with subtle notes of nuts and spice. A rather complex and interesting taste for a Vienna. Mouthfeel is simply of water, but this beer compensates for that with really good well-rounded taste. Finish is short and moderately hoppy.
brianprentiss (384), Mountain View, California, USA Jul 6, 2008 At $8 a cup from their brewery in the French Quarter, I was hoping for more, this beer just doesn’t have much to offer. BeerFanDan17 (301), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Jun 13, 2008 Not really a red in my book--more like a pilsener. Flavors were more like a domestic lager. popdoggy (100), USA May 26, 2008 Yeah, this beer was copper colored.
nothing was bad about it, however nothing was memorable about it either. i dont think i would try this one again. outshune by the black forrest.
Nate (2177), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 8, 2008 Draught sample at brewhouse. Light malt aroma with mild fresh grassy hops. Bit of bitterness, too. Golden medium amber clear with thin off-white foamy lacing head. Medium-watery body with medium-high carbonation. Starts fairly dry with good amount of bittering from the get-go. Bitter last throughout with dry nutty bitter finish and after. Good hoppy ale, but could use a bit more malt.
