all the traditional spicy/banananess was very understated... good to me but maybe bad to style.
I thought this was very drinkable. boomerbrew (45), Texas, USA

Clove and bannana aroma and flavor from the yeast. Little more then i desire. fruity/spicy finish. I perfer their pilsner. FishManLA (297), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA

Foggy yellow color (typical Hefeweizen) with a fizzy white quick-dissipating head. Nose of citrus, banana, orange and clove. Taste was just like the nose: fruits and clove, with an obvious and punchy emphasis on the clove. Spicy/sweet finish. A nice Hefeweizen. Cajun (144), New Iberia, Louisiana, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2008 A better effort than the first two on the sampler. Not an awesome beer, but relatively true to style. Apparently, the brewmaster’s fear of malt and hops doesn’t extend to malted wheat. Not fantastic but not actually bad. A great aroma of bananas and spice. Tast more of the banana and spice. I also picked up some clove. This was the best brew from Crescent City hands down. A very well done German Hef. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 27, 2007 This and the pilsener were the only untainted beers of the night. I was surprised to see this noted as a german hefe, as it came across as a nicely made American-style wheat. Hazy, pale straw in appearance with a big foamy white head. Wheaty with a mild citrus note and a slightly tangy finish. Refreshing and very nice (for an American wheat, but misses the mark as a hefe).
