Served in a lager glass. Fairly average white head poured with noticeable fizzing. A lightly cloudy yellow. Aroma and flavour are fairly average considering the alcohol content which I’d expected to burn more than it did. I’d agree with Papsoe re: the hops making the 10% ABV less obvious. Nice enough bitterness in the finish. An efficient alcohol delivery device. Wish it wasn’t so expensive here.

Golden colour with a white head. Malty, light fruity sweet aroma with a clear alcohol. Malty flavor with a light straw note and hints of alcohol.

Dark yellow pour with a fizzy white head. Cooking oil aroma with lots of alcohol , and sugared malts. Orange peel gone wrong. Sweet alcoholic citric flavours, totally whacked with the heavy booze finish. Not good at all, but I’ve had worse. Can from the LCBO.

(Bottle 33 cl) 10% ABV version. Pretty, fully golden colour - bordering amber. Very fizzy, almost noisy when poured, but the head remains pretty much absent. Full-bodied and potent, but surprisingly the alcohol is not THAT prominent. Perhaps the added German aroma hops draw some of the attention away from the booze. Not bad for a European Strong. 040400

Light-orange appearance. Very little aroma -- maybe some sweet alcohol? Extremely smooth for a 10% alc./vol. strong. A bitter alcohol sensation on the finish but very little flavour throughout the tasting cycle, which is remarkable for a beer of this strength. A smooth, soulless strong.

Canned - 500ml (10% version). Golden and highly carbonated body topped with a thin white bubbly/foamy head. Aroma is a horrible mix of alcohol, metal, and boiled cabbage. Taste is as repellent as the aroma is. This favorite of the Rideau street bums is definitely overrated and simply undrinkable. Even my drain or my toilet do not deserve a drop of that rocket fuel.
