BeerandBlues2 (3200), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Nov 4, 2007 Bottle. Pours hazy tawny with a small, rocky, frothy, off-white head, diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (toasted grain, bread, meal), heavy hops (perfume, flowers, spruce), light yeast (barnyard) with notes of honey and apple. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a sweet, bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity, and heavy bitterness. Candied hop and fruit flavor mixed with toasted grains. Zinister (1198), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 31, 2007 Lightly dusty apricot color. Pine, citrus and resin on the wonderful nose. Big upfront hop flavor...very piney and resiny. Ends with anice drying pithy grapefruit flavor. The hops really stick around the whole time (Willamette and Cascade)...long after taste. Darn good beer from Greg.
