Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Sep 6, 2005 Hazy yellow-gold; frothy white head. Fizzy-smooth carbonation. Sweet malt base with notes of Fruity Pebbles cereal, buttered toast and cream. Nippy notes of flowers and lemonade. No discernible notes of banana/clove here either, Ernest. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Aug 14, 2005 Draught.
Head is mostly lasting.
Body is hazy light yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), with a light note of lemon.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
The info sheet at the brewpub says this was patterned after German wheats, but damned if I could smell any banana/clove character...I’m skeptical that a German yeast strain was used, but I could be wrong.
